She was brought into Ramos Pinto in 1990 by her uncle José Ramos Pinto Rosas and worked directly with João Nicolau de Almeida (her cousin) until taking over from him in 2015 as Master Blender of the House of Ramos Pinto, the position she still holds today. In 2017, Wine Magazine “Grandes Escolhas” voted her “Port Wine Maker of the Year”.

He joined Ramos Pinto in 2005 working directly with Teresa Ameztoy and João Nicolau de Almeida until taking over from them in 2019 as Douro Wine Production Director at the House of Ramos Pinto. Passionate about the Douro, he and his family live in Vila Nova de Foz Côa where each day he supervises the wines made in the winery at Quinta dos Bons Ares.

In 1979 he began working on the Ramos Pinto vines. He and João Nicolau de Almeida made up the House’s technical team for more than a quarter of a century (40 years, in fact). He is Director of viticulture, responsible for 250 hectares on the four Ramos Pinto Quintas. He was also responsible for eradicating herbicides and introducing organic and biodynamic farming methods to the vineyards.
